Quote I am pondering: “There are two most powerful days in your life. The day you are born, and the day you discover why.” I was multi-tasking yesterday looking for a quote for one of my interviews for the Many Faces of Elgin project and looking for TED-talks. I came across this quote by Boniface Mwang in his talk The day I stood up alone. I met a man yesterday, who lived his life with no understanding of his purpose. When he finally discovered it, the joy he felt changed his life forever.
Recipes of the week: My husband and I really don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day. We don’t need to. We tell each other all the time that we love one another. We buy each other random “prizes” and we make each other a priority. That being said, these Valentine’s Day treats look yummo!
Words: As a language teacher, I love words. Different people take different approaches to communication. I don’t seak to have a gigantic vocabulary that makes me sound smart. I communicate with intent with the words that I do have. That is also the philosophy that I share with my students. That being said, these 28 words convey ideas that we have no word for in English.
What I am photographing: In 2010, I embarked on a photography journey called Project 365. I committed to making at least one photograph a day for a year. It was incredibly rewarding and I learned a lot about myself and my photography. I have been trying to find something ever since to sink my teeth into– to help me grow more as a photography, but also as a person. When I discovered the 52 Lists Project, I knew I had struck gold. I will spend the next 52 weeks not journaling, but photographing the prompts from this book. Joy!
May your week bring you abundant joy!
